In the east of Leh on the Chinese borderis the land of nomads. The average altitude of the Changthang area is around 14600m above sea level. The word Changthang means eastern flat land. The place is famous for Changpa nomads, wild animals, lakes, and rare birds. The area is also known as Rupsho valley. The place also houses a sanctuary which is home of many rare flora and fauna of Ladakh. Surrounded by two large and world-famous water lakes, the Tsomoriri and the Pangong Tso, the sanctuary is one of a place that is a must visit attraction here.
