The Cochin International Airport is 75 kms, and is the nearest airport to Allepey. The Alleppey Railway Station lies within the city limits and is well connected by rail to Cochin and Trivandrum. Kerala State Run Transport Corporation buses connect Alleppey to most major cities in Kerala. You also have luxury air-conditioned buses from cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Mysore and Coimbatore. The town is also accessible by National Highway-47.

If adventure sports are your thing, Havelock Island is just four-hour ferry drive away from Port Blair. The pristine blue waters are perfect to set the tone for your time ahead. Port Blair Airport is the nearest to the island. Seaplane is also available for the tourist to reach there. Havelock is an island, so it is not possible to reach here by train. Buses and shared jeeps are the cheapest transport.

Guwahati Airport is the nearest to Cherrapunji. It’s around 181 kms away from the city. Guwahati also offers the nearest railroad to Cherrapunji. Buses for Cherrapunji leave from the Sohra Bus Stand in the Bara Bazaar area of Shillong.

4 Khajjiar

Khajjiar does not have an airport. Gaggal Airport in Dharamsala is 122 kms away. However its connected with important cities like Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh by road. This road is picturesque. Pathankot is the nearest rail link, at a distance of 118 kms. Trains from Ahmedabad, Bhatinda, Delhi, Hatia, Jammu, Udhampur, etc go to Pathankot.

The nearest airport is Nasik Ozar Airport. Nashik railway station is a major station on the Central Railway network. The roads of Nashik smoothly connect it with the neighbouring cities.

How to Reach Mashobra
The nearest airport is the Jubbarhatti Airport is in Shimla, and a convenient 35 kms away. The nearest railroad is Kalka, and that’s 103 kms away. The bus service is cheaper. Catch one of the buses that leave daily for Mashobra from Shimla’s Lakkar Bazar. You can even drive down to Mashobra from New Delhi (355 kms away) and Chandigarh (130 kms away).

7 Jalori Pass

If you’re the whacky adventurous couple, risk your life at one of India’s most dangerous roads. It’s closed during peak winters. If you decide to take this route, make sure you are fully prepared well in advance. However, if you do, you’ll remember it for the rest of your life.

How to reach Jalori Pass
If you are traveling from Shimla or Narkanda, after 100 kms you will reach Luhri junction. This is where you take a left turn to enter into the Jalori Pass Road. The top of the hill or the pass is 53 kms from here.

8 Chaukori

Chaukori is a tiny hill station in Uttarakhand. So why visit this place? The breath-taking views of the snowy peaks of Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot, and the feel of the cool breeze touch your face. You can sit here for hours in silence, and do nothing.

The nearest Airport is Naini Saini Airport in Uttarakhand, and that’s roughly one-and-half hour drive. The nearest railway station is Kathgodam. It’s around 180 kms. Alternatively you can travel by Bus from Nainital (181 kms), Rishikesh (327 kms), Haridwar (347 kms) or Dehradun (366 kms) via Uttaranchal State Transport and some private travel services.

9 Mararikulam

Want some private beach time? Ditch Goa and head to Mararikulam. Simple. This awesome beach is perfect to sit, relax and soak in the sun. Enjoy your time while you site in the shade of the coconut trees on the beach.

How to reach Mararikulam
The best way to reach Mararikulam is from Kochi by road. Head South-East on Aroor – Thoppumpady Road towards Post Office Road. Turn right onto NH47 and turn right onto Beach Road/Marrarikulam Temple Road. Keep left to continue on Beach Road. It takes only an hour to reach from Kochi. In case you can’t drive, it takes around Rs. 800 to 1000 to reach Mararikulam by cab. There are numerous buses throughout the day leaving from Ernakulam Junction to Mararikulam. It takes close to 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours to reach Mararikulam from Kochi by bus.

10 Imphal

If you love to engage with new cultures, Imphal is the place for you. Called the Jewel of India, it is surrounded by hills from all sides. A scenic heaven, Imphal will get you refreshed if you are tired of the conventional romantic places.

How to reach Imphal
Imphal has its own Airport. The nearest Railway Station is Dimapur Railway Station. It’s also linked to major cities in the region and is well connected through Manipur State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) and some private bus operators.
